Driving School
Central Idaho Driving School offers a 1 on 1 driving experience with an Idaho State Certified Driving Instructor. The goal is to promote safe driving practices and help guide you on your way to earning your Idaho State Driver's License.

This is a comprehensive list of how the process works and what you will need:

Fill out the “Let’s Get Started” form Here.

A safe and secure payment link will be emailed to you via Square Pay. You can also find payment link Here.

Go to your local department of licensing to apply for a permit. Below is a list of things you will need to successfully apply for your learner’s permit:

You will need to be a minimum of 14.5 years old.

Tell the department of licensing you are using Central Idaho Driving School to complete your Driver’s Training.

Bring with you a Verification of Compliance (VOC) form, required for proof of school enrollment or attendance for students under 18, which can be obtained through your local school.

Bring with you Proof of identity and age (e.g., certified birth certificate or U.S. passport).

Bring with you a Social Security card or proof of Social Security number.

A parent or legal guardian must accompany your son/daughter, provide their own valid ID, and sign a consent form accepting financial liability. If the accompanying adult isn't a parent, a notarized power of attorney form is needed.

After you have successfully applied for your permit and have your permit number, fill out the "Online School Registration Form" Here. This will begin the process of gaining access to the online schooling.

Complete the Online Driver’s Education Course.

Schedule your first drive (this will be the first of 3 instructed drives). The Online Driver’s Education Course must be completed before you schedule to drive. Once confirmation of completion is verified you will gain access to the booking calendar.

After successfully completing your 3rd drive you will be ready to start driving with your parent/guardian.

Your 6 month permit period will start from this day

Over this 6 month period you will be required to drive for a minimum of 50 hours (40 hours of daytime and 10 hours of nighttime driving)

Once your 6 month permit period has come to an end you can schedule a driving skills test with the DMV

Upon successful completion of the driving skills test, you can take your written test at the department of licensing. This would be the same location where you received your permit.

Completion of the written test means you can get your Driver’s License
Pricing
6 hours of Instructed Driving and Online Education - $500
The 6 hours of driving is split up into 3 two hour driving sessions. This is 1 on 1 with a state certified driving instructor. The online driver’s education course is a state certified program. Call or email to schedule.
2 Hour Refresher before you take the DMV Skills Test - $160
After you have completed 6 months of driving with your parent/guardian, you will be ready to take your DMV Skills test. This drive will focus on helping you get ready to successfully pass. Call or email to schedule.
1 Hour Refresher or Additional Drive Time - $100
This additional drive time can be used as a refresher course. This could also be extra time used to work on parking and other driving skills that need more work. Call or email to schedule.
Emergency Course (Not Available Yet)
This will be a course that focuses on emergency situations and the best course of action to take. Making sure you aren't putting yourself in harms way while trying to resolve issues that may arise while driving. This would also include how to fix a flat tire. (This course is not available at this time)

FAQ
Is there anything else that I will need to complete the Central Idaho Driving School course?
Yes, you will need to complete 6 hours of driving observation. This can be documented as you ride with a parent/guardian. The driving observation form can be viewed and downloaded here.
What are your payment terms?
Payment is required before the online schooling can be accessed. Payment is a made through a safe/secure Square Pay payment link.
Can I reschedule or cancel driving appointments?
All drive time cancelations must be done no later than 24 hours before your scheduled drive. If you cancel within the 24 hours leading up to your scheduled drive, you will be charged an additional $50
When are the best times to schedule drive time?
Weekends and weeknights can typically work best for students. There are some students who have free periods throughout the school day that also work well for scheduling drive time.
